Requirements:
All KMS Serenity Series
- The maximum line set length is 66 feet. No refrigerant charge adjustment is necessary.
- The maximum vertical distance between the remote condensing unit and icemaker is 33 feet above or 10 feet below the icemaker. These distances are measured fitting to fitting.
- If the vertical distance between the remote condensing unit and the icemaker is greater than 20 feet (not to exceed 33 feet), an "S" oil-trap (5/8" OD tubing) must be installed in the suction line. The "S" oil-trap must be located halfway between the icemaker and remote condensing unit. This ensures sufficient oil return to the compressor.
- KMS-822, KMS-830 and KMS-2000 are brazed line set connections.
All Flaker Serenity Series
- The maximum line set length is 55' (17 m). No refrigerant charge adjustment is necessary.
- The maximum vertical distance between the remote condensing unit and icemaker is 33' (10 m) above or 10' (3 m) below the icemaker. These distances are measured fitting to fitting.
- If the vertical distance between the remote condensing unit and the icemaker is greater than 20' (6 m) (not to exceed 33' (10 m)), an "S" oil-trap (5/8" OD copper tubing) must be installed in the suction line. The "S" oil-trap must be located halfway between the icemaker and remote condensing unit. This ensures sufficient oil return to the compressor.
Note: Hoshizaki recommends that all new remote installations should include a new condenser and line set. The use of existing condensers is not recommended/allowed as they may not provide for optimum performance and could affect the refrigeration system warranty coverage.
